I spent the first year in business learning the basics – the rules about my LLC, preparing for taxes as a business, learning bookkeeping, and testing various services. By the end of the year, I had served several clients in Lawrence, Lowell, and Boston. I participated in Power Up Latinx’s mentorship program and received support on bookkeeping and lead generation. I was also paired with a business mentor through Small Business Strong who helped me apply for my first business grant.
I was awarded my first business grant through MGCC allowing me to have a logo created and this website. Through a series of website content development over a few months, I was able to define my services into the two you can read about on this site. I took on my first state agency client and joined a pilot cohort through Small Business Strong to support my application to become Women and Minority Owned Certified.
Year three will focus on promoting my website and services with the aim of building new client relationships while further developing those that exist. I look forward to continuing my growth as a business owner, learning new things, and improving my services to all I get to work with in the community. I also look forward to intentionally seeking new grant opportunities and to expand my knowledge about successful consultancies.
